Automation Technician Start 8:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M. $25 - $30 hourly with benefits Schlumberger Rosharon

  • Rosharon, Texas, United States

The Automation Technician is responsible for supporting and optimizing production in the areas of plc programming, instrumentation, and robotics. This includes:

  • Diagnosing and solving automation related issues
  • Assisting in the roll-out of new automation systems
  • Collecting data and reporting in all phases of manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot automated production lines that include conveyors, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation.
  • software and robotic issues that cannot be resolved by a maintenance technician and resolve the issues at the root cause
  • Aid engineers run the equipment and production lines when new systems or code is being rolled out
  • As part of this, the technician will take on activities such as running the bays and packaging the produced goods
  • Collect, organize and prepare short reports on data from tests, including analysis and conclusions.
  • Work with engineers and technicians on the setup, performance, and data reporting for non-routine and complex tests.
  • Prepare and plot pump and motor performance curves from tests and analytical data
  • Prepare test and fabrication requests as required in support of various projects
  • Assist in construction or disassembly of laboratory test units or field test prototypes, including processing necessary manufacturing and purchasing paperwork.
  • Maintain an engineering notebook of all significant activities.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the manufacturing lines and work with producers and engineers to eliminate them Previous Experience and Education.

Qualifications

  • Work Authorization: Green Card, US Citizen (Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship).
  • Education: Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Experience: Associates degree on electronics, computer engineer, or automation.
  • Ability to program HMI, PLC, and drives (Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition!)
  • Ability to program and teach robots (FANUC)
  • Ability to perform I/O and functional tests
  • AC/DC circuits
  • Read and comprehend electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Electrical testing of high voltage and low voltage equipment
  • Wiring of electrical components and cabinets
  • Lock Out, Tag Out, and other industry safety standards
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs a few times in a day (not regularly)
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly in a day
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Preferred associate's degree in electronics, computer engineer, or automation. Some programming experience preferred Python, C++, SQL, and SCADA. Experience with electronics and electro-mechanical interfaces is preferred. Candidate must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to ITAR and BATFE regulations required for this role.
