Innovation runs in the blood of Shiftfillers' President.
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Roderick Smyth consistently lives up to his famous compatriot Oscar Wilde's saying that "true progress is to know more, and be more, and to do more". A technophile at heart, he thinks that tech innovations should always be about creating something positive.
Motivated by this principle, he dedicated over 20 years to build technology startups to service the recruitment and staffing industry. He created TempBuddy, a groundbreaking platform designed to connect workers with jobs through mobile technology. The company was recognised with several prestigious awards, including one for the Best European Social StartUp by the European Commission in 2017. The successful business was then acquired by industry leader Bullhorn.
But Rod wanted to continue the vision to change people's lives for the better by making flexible work easier and more rewarding, and deliver on the promise that the technology he once developed for TempBuddy can bring to staffing. That's when he partnered with one of his earliest clients, like-minded Drew Golin, to create a new tech-powered staffing business for the American market - Shiftfillers.
He is now very excited to work with a team that has full spectrum experience in the industry ecosystem from both traditional and technology backgrounds. “Our technology takes the admin out of service and puts the service back in relationships”, says Rod.
